Ivacy Monitor is a proxy client application by Ivacy, a VPN service provider. The application allows a user to connect to the VPN servers Ivacy offers. The inner workings of Ivacy Monitor are rather complicated, but it´s enough to say that when you hit "Connect", it will create and establish a VPN connection between you and the company's servers. So, you, the user, can browse the web anonymously. Your IP address will be hidden and you will appear as if you were browsing the Internet from another location. The GUI is simple enough to making it possible for anyone to manage his VPN connection. Before you connect you can choose your fake IP. You can choose is the IP will belong to the UK, Russia and the USA.
On the right of the application's window (once you are successfully connected), you will see a speed graph. Ivacy monitors your bandwidth usage and with the free account you are given, you can only download 500 megabytes using the VPN connection. Still, that should be enough for everyday use. With Ivacy Monitor you can connect to Ivacy servers and stay connected for as long as you want. I didn't experience any disconnects or slow speed. It works like a charm. |
